Caught in the current of my own mind as I battle against thoughts rushing over me in waves. Flashbacks to the ocean trying to carry my spirit home. The smell of the air feeling my lungs and the salt water caressing my soul as I ground myself. My spirit is still dancing there, waiting to be met by the same sunset that made my heart soften. There’s a moment of peace in remembering, but my spirit can no longer dance there. When the sun sets it’s time to return home. In time there will be more light on new shores.
